Fishing in Lineage 2 is a calm, semi-passive way to earn SP, money and useful rewards without killing mobs. It will not replace farming, but it runs great in the background: while others grind, you level fishing skills and bank SP. Let us cover how to start and what it gives you.
What you need to start
- ▸A Fishing Rod — bought from the Fishing Guild / fisherman NPCs.
- ▸Bait (Lure) — matched to fish level and type, also from fishermen.
- ▸Fishing Shots — the 'shots for fishing', they speed up reeling (like Soul Shots).
- ▸A fishing spot — special waterside points in towns and zones.
How it works
- 1Equip the rod, stand at a fishing spot and cast your line.
- 2When you get a bite, the reeling mini-game starts: alternate 'pumping' and 'reeling' the fish.
- 3Fishing skills (Pumping/Reeling) raise your success chance and reel damage.
- 4Land the fish and receive a reward plus fishing XP.
Fishing skills are bought from a Fisherman and leveled separately from combat skills. Fishing Shots save time: without them reeling drags on. Fishing is the perfect activity when you have no party or want a break from grinding.
Why fish
- ▸SP — fish grant skill points you need to level your class skills.
- ▸Income — fish and fishing rewards can be exchanged/sold.
- ▸Semi-passive — a background activity with no death risk or XP loss.
Do not expect a gold mine: this is slow, calm income, not a replacement for adena farming. The value is the SP and being able to do it relaxed.
