Lineage 2 Hellbound (C5): Complete Master Guide

Complete Lineage 2 Hellbound guide — new features, classes, leveling, dungeons, raids, economy and private server tips for beginners and veterans.

May 3, 2025

Lineage 2 Hellbound (Chronicle 5, released 2006) built upon the Interlude foundation and added the dark, atmospheric Hellbound Island — a new world tied to the demon Golkonda's prison. It introduced the Trust reputation system, Dragon-grade weapons, and new instances like the Naia Tower. While less common than Interlude on private servers, Hellbound is prized for its rich content and unique endgame progression.

Hellbound Island: How It Works

Hellbound Island is a progressive zone. On your first visit only the coastal areas are accessible. To unlock deeper regions you must raise your Trust level — a reputation counter that increases by killing island mobs, completing quests, and using special crafted items. Higher Trust unlocks new zones, bosses, and ultimately the Golkonda fight.

Trust gains are faster in a party. Team up with other players on the island — everyone benefits from coordinated mob clearing.

Leveling Guide: 1–76+

Levels 1–40: Classic Path

The early game in Hellbound is identical to Interlude. Start in your racial village, complete starter quests, get your first class at 20 and second class at 40. All Interlude zones are fully available — Ant Nest, Cruma Tower, and Execution Grounds take you through the first 40 levels.

Levels 40–62: Transition Zones

Blazing Swamp (40–52), Oran Tempest (52–56), and Forge of Gods (55–62) are your main hunting grounds. Get your Third Class Transfer at 58–61 — critical power spike. Monastery of Silence is ideal for 62–68.

Levels 68–76+: Endgame and Hellbound Island

Ketra Orc Outpost and Varka Silenos Outpost (68–74) are the top party zones. Tower of Insolence upper floors (72–76) for solo play. From level 74+ Hellbound Island opens up — the true endgame of this chronicle.

Dragon-grade weapons are status symbols on Hellbound servers. They signal endgame progression. Protect them — losing one to a PK drop can set you back weeks.

Private Server Tips

  • True C5 Hellbound servers are rare — search aggregators with the 'C5' or 'Hellbound' tag specifically.
  • Trust Level resets on death on some servers — verify the rules with the server administration.
  • Hellbound has more clan-focused content than Interlude. Find an active clan on day one.
  • Dragon-grade weapons are often sold in donation shops on private servers. Evaluate how this affects balance before committing.
  • Naia Tower is difficult with random parties — run it with guildmates or a pre-made group.
  • Hellbound Island is a contested PvP zone during prime time. Expect fights even without provoking anyone.
