Dances and Songs are a separate layer of buffs on top of the regular ones. Bladedancer and Swordsinger provide them, and without them a proper endgame party loses a noticeable chunk of damage and survivability. Let us cover who does what and why this pair is nearly mandatory in a serious group.
Who provides dances and songs
| Class | Buff type | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| Bladedancer | Dances | Damage, crit, attack speed |
| Swordsinger | Songs | Defense, resists, regeneration |
Bladedancer (3rd profession — Spectral Dancer) pumps offense, Swordsinger (→ Sword Muse) pumps defense. Together they cover what regular buffers do not.
The best dances and songs
- ▸Dance of Fire / Dance of Fury — physical damage and attack speed.
- ▸Dance of Concentration — casting/attack stability.
- ▸Song of Warding / Song of Earth — defense and resists.
- ▸Song of Wind / Song of Hunter — speed and accuracy.
Dances and songs use their own buff slots and do not conflict with Prophet/Elven Elder buffs. A full loadout = regular buffs (see the buffer guide) + dances + songs. That is exactly why top parties bring a buffer AND a BD AND a SWS.
Party role
Bladedancer and Swordsinger are weak DDs themselves — their value is buffing the whole group. In an AoE party they multiply farm speed; on bosses and sieges they raise survivability. How to build a group around them is in ideal party composition and the AoE party guide.
Do not roll BD/SWS for solo play — they only shine in a group. For solo picks see best beginner class.
