Raid bosses (RB) are a fast way to score good drops, level soul crystals and close quests like Noblesse. These are not Antharas-tier epics: ordinary RBs go down to a small party in a couple of minutes, yet they hand out valuable items and unique content. Let us cover why to kill them, how to level crystals, and how not to start a war with other players.
Raid bosses versus epics
Ordinary raid bosses stand all over the world at roughly levels 20–75, fall to a party of 5–9, and respawn on a timer. Epic bosses (Queen Ant, Core, Orfen, Zaken, Baium, Antharas) are a different league — their drops are epic jewelry and fights draw entire alliances. We have a dedicated Interlude epic bosses guide; here the focus is on regular RBs.
Why kill raid bosses
- ▸Drops — weapons, armor and recipes, often better value than regular farming.
- ▸Soul crystals — RBs are how you raise crystal levels.
- ▸Quests — Barakiel grants Noblesse, and several RBs anchor quest chains.
- ▸XP and adena — a fat one-off reward for a short fight.
How to level soul crystals
A Soul Crystal slots into a soul-crystal weapon and has a chance to absorb the boss's soul the moment it dies — leveling the crystal up. The higher the crystal level, the stronger the weapon's Soul Crystal effect.
- 1Take a Soul Crystal of the right line (red/blue/green) and a weapon that supports absorb.
- 2Join a party and take part in killing a level-appropriate raid boss.
- 3At the moment the boss dies, use the absorb attempt — there is a chance the crystal levels up.
- 4The crystal can stay the same or break: it is random, so expect several attempts.
Each raid boss has a maximum crystal level it can absorb. Check which RB matches your current crystal level, or the attempt simply burns for nothing.
Timers and finding bosses
After death an RB respawns after a fixed interval (usually with some spread). On private servers timers are often accelerated and popular bosses are camped by clans. Hunt less obvious RBs or arrive ahead of the respawn window. Exact locations and levels are in the knowledge base under Interlude raid bosses.
Party setup
Most RBs only need the standard core: a tank holding aggro, 2–3 DDs on damage, a healer, and a buffer supporting. The key is stable aggro on the tank, or the boss peels onto a DD or the healer. The full role breakdown is in ideal party composition Interlude.
Kill-stealing and PK thrive at many RBs — a rival group can snipe the boss or jump you mid-fight. Do not solo contested bosses with a valuable drop on the line, and stay PvP-ready.
Where to start
Start with raid bosses around your own level for drops and your first crystal levels, and earn consumable money in parallel — the how is in the adena farming 40–55 guide. If you are hunting for Noblesse, look for Barakiel alongside the Noblesse quest guide.
