The Warlord is the only class in Interlude that deals physical damage to a whole group of mobs at once. The secret is the polearm: it hits every enemy in an arc in front of you. Paired with an AoE mage and a tank, the Warlord turns pack farming into an XP conveyor belt. Let us cover how it works and how to level on it.
How polearms and AoE work
A polearm's normal attack strikes every mob in the cone in front of you — so the tighter the pack, the more damage lands per swing. A Warlord does not 'cast AoE' like a mage; it physically cleaves the crowd with auto-attacks, which makes attack speed and accuracy critical.
Progression and role
Warlord is the Human warrior 2nd profession, becoming Dreadnought at endgame. Its main role is AoE DD in a pack party: gathering and finishing crowds alongside mages. How to build one is in the AoE party guide.
Key skills
- ▸Polearm stun skills — stun the group so the pack does not scatter or hit you back.
- ▸Drain / lifesteal — part of your damage returns as HP/CP, helping you survive in the crowd.
- ▸Polearm accuracy and damage passives — the foundation of steady AoE.
Accuracy matters more for a Warlord than for a single-target DD: miss half the pack and AoE farming falls apart. Keep Focus/Guidance from a buffer and do not tank your DEX with dyes.
Dyes and gear
Dyes: +STR (damage) and a little CON (survival in the crowd). Weapon: the best polearm you can get — C-grade → B-grade → A-grade with a Haste or Health SA (see the SA guide). Wear heavy armor to eat the pack's hits.
The Warlord is weak in single-target PvP and duels — its strength is the crowd. For ranked fights look at daggers and archers; a comparison of all DDs is in best PvP classes Interlude.
Where to farm
The Warlord shines in zones with dense packs — Cruma Tower, the Catacombs and other 'pack' spots. A map of the best zones by level is in the best farming spots guide.
