Daggers are the kings of Interlude PvP. A single clean Backstab can delete half a target's HP, and high speed plus evasion let you survive where other DDs drop in seconds. But a dagger has almost no room for error: miss the backstab angle and you are the one lying dead. Let us break down the three classes, the skills and the build.
The three daggers: which to pick
All three daggers are strong in Interlude, but each is tuned to a different race and style, differing in base stats and unique third-profession skills.
| Class | Race | Strength | Character |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adventurer | Human | Balanced, best Critical Damage | Versatile and consistent |
| Wind Rider | Light Elf | Speed and evasion | Live-fast, dodges damage well |
| Ghost Hunter | Dark Elf | Damage and debuffs | Aggressive in trades |
Progression path: Rogue → 2nd profession (Treasure Hunter, Plains Walker or Abyss Walker) → 3rd profession (Adventurer, Wind Rider, Ghost Hunter).
Key skills
- ▸Backstab — your main burst; works only from behind and hits enormously. The heart of the class.
- ▸Deadly Blade / Mortal Blow — frontal attacks for when you cannot get behind the target.
- ▸Lethal Blow — a chance to instantly zero a target's CP/HP; wins trades.
- ▸Focus Death / Critical Chance — the crit passives the whole class lives on.
- ▸Ultimate Evasion — a sharp evasion spike, your survival button.
- ▸Silent Move — sneak in unseen to line up the backstab.
Backstab checks the angle relative to the target's facing, not yours. In PvP get directly behind the enemy and strike before they turn — otherwise you land a normal hit instead of the crit.
Dyes and stats
Daggers care about DEX (crit, evasion, accuracy) and STR (damage). The classic dye choice adds DEX and STR at the cost of CON — but do not push CON too far negative on cheap armor, or a single burst will delete you.
| Priority | Dye | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | +DEX / -CON | Crit, evasion, accuracy |
| 2 | +STR / -CON | Direct damage increase |
| Careful | Too much -CON | HP drops — risk of dying to one burst |
Gear
Daggers want fast blades with high critical rate and crit damage. As you grow: C-grade for early PvP → B-grade (Kris, light armor for evasion) → A-grade (Dagger of Naga tier). Always wear light armor for evasion and attack speed. The full grade path is covered in the D→B gear progression guide.
A dagger does nothing without Soul Shots. Always carry a stock of the right grade — forget to restock before PvP and your burst turns into a light slap.
PvP and Olympiad tactics
On the Olympiad daggers crush mages and healers but struggle against high-evasion tanks with a shield. Open with Ultimate Evasion, wait for the chance to get behind, and keep Lethal for the trade window.
- ▸Versus a mage — close with Silent Move and burst before the cast lands.
- ▸Versus a warrior — play from evasion, never stand toe-to-toe.
- ▸Versus a healer — apply constant pressure, deny regen time.
Duel mechanics and scoring are covered in the Olympiad guide, and how daggers rank among other DDs in best PvP classes Interlude.
