Lineage 2 Interlude Archer Guide: PvP, Kiting & Build

How to play an archer in L2 Interlude: Sagittarius vs Moonlight Sentinel vs Ghost Sentinel, key skills, dyes, kiting tactics and gear for PvP and the Olympiad.

The archer in Interlude is pure ranged burst. A well-kited archer shreds a target before it can close the gap — but let an enemy reach melee range and you fold in a couple of hits. The whole class is about distance, positioning and timing. Let us break down the three classes, the skills and the build.

The three archers: which to pick

All Interlude archers fire a bow and live on critical hits, but they differ by race and stat nuances.

ClassRaceStrengthCharacter
SagittariusHumanBalance and damageVersatile, steady crits
Moonlight SentinelLight ElfEvasion and speedBest kiter, hard to catch
Ghost SentinelDark ElfAccuracy and debuffsAggressive, wins the stat race

Progression path: 2nd profession (Hawkeye, Silver Ranger or Phantom Ranger) → 3rd profession (Sagittarius, Moonlight Sentinel, Ghost Sentinel).

Key skills

  • Stun Shot — stuns the target so you can reopen the gap and finish it.
  • Lethal Shot — a chance to instantly zero a target's HP/CP.
  • Rapid Shot / Double Shot — boosts shot speed and damage.
  • Hex — lowers an enemy's accuracy; a lifesaver against other fighters.
  • Dead Eye / Critical passives — the crits the whole damage output rides on.
  • Hawk Eye — increases attack range, crucial for kiting.

A bow in Interlude fires with a reload delay. Never stand still: shoot — step back — shoot again (kite). While the target runs at you, you are already taking off half its HP.

Dyes and stats

Archers want DEX (crit, accuracy, attack speed) and STR (damage). The classic dye adds DEX and STR at the cost of CON — but like the dagger, do not push CON too far negative: archers are fragile, and at low HP you get deleted in one go.

Gear

Wear light armor (evasion and attack speed) and the best bow you can afford: C-gradeB-gradeA-grade (Bow of Peril and above). The full grade path is in the D→B gear progression guide.

Bows burn Soul Shots faster than any other weapon — every shot is one SS charge. Carry a big stock, or you will go broke on consumables before you rack up frags.

PvP and Olympiad tactics

The archer's worst enemy is anything that closes distance: daggers and warriors with a leap. Against them, play off Stun Shot and kiting and never get pinned to a wall. Against mages, your burst is often faster than their cast.

  • Versus a dagger (class breakdown) — stun and retreat, never let them get behind you.
  • Versus a mage — burst to pre-empt, break the cast with damage.
  • In mass PvP — stay at the back and focus the enemy healers and supports.
