Hellbound did not overhaul the core epic boss mechanics from Interlude, but it added new raid bosses unique to the island and adjusted the respawn windows of several classic ones. Knowing the schedules and tactics gives you a serious economic edge on any HB server.

Tactics: Antharas in Hellbound
Antharas is the hardest epic in Hellbound, requiring a well-coordinated clan or alliance. In HB it moves slightly faster than in Interlude thanks to third-class profession changes, but the base mechanics are the same.
- ▸Entry through Antharas Lair: requires the Dragons Valley quest or alliance access.
- ▸Phases: Phase 1 (<75% HP) — regular attacks and AoE Fear. Phase 2 (<50% HP) — adds Breath and MassStun. Phase 3 (<25% HP) — constant AoE damage and Minion summons.
- ▸Positioning: main tanks hold Antharas from the flanks, nukers stay behind. Healers at maximum distance.
- ▸Fear resistance is critical: without Valakas Necklace or Fear Resist potions the party loses 30–40% effectiveness.
Valakas: What Changed in Hellbound
Valakas in HB has a slightly faster AI and increased Breath damage, requiring faster healer rotation. The key rule: never stack all healers together — one Mass Stun under Breath kills them simultaneously.
For Valakas bring Elixir of CP and Fire Resistance potions. Without FR potions even Valakas Necklace will not save you from Breath in the third phase.
Hellbound Island's Unique Raid Bosses
The island itself adds unique raid bosses not found in other chronicles. They require a high Hellbound Trust Level and drop unique items.
| Boss | Trust Level | Difficulty | Drops |
|---|---|---|---|
| Longhorn Golkonda | Trust 3+ | Medium | Hellbound unique items, B-grade |
| Ranku | Trust 7+ | High | S-grade components, unique recipes |
| Chimera Piece | Trust 10+ | Very High | Rare S-grade, exotic resources |
How to Raise Hellbound Trust Level
Trust Level is the island's key resource. It rises by completing quests from island NPCs, killing mobs in Hellbound zones, and participating in special island events. Without Trust 7+ only a third of the island's content is accessible.
Epic Boss Economy Tips
- ▸Antharas Earring and Valakas Necklace are the most valuable items in Hellbound, selling for 200–500M adena on active servers.
- ▸Baium Ring and Zaken Earring are worth less but still profitable given how often they respawn.
- ▸Queen Ant, Core, Orfen — quickly farmed by small groups. On low-rate servers (x1–x5) these are a steady source of B-grade equipment.
- ▸Do not sell all drops immediately: check shop prices first — sometimes a component is worth twice as much as the finished item.
