Hellbound brought third-class professions and reworked skills that shifted the PvP meta significantly from Interlude. Some classes got a massive boost, others dropped off. Here is who dominates and why.
Top PvP Classes in Hellbound
| Class | Format | Strengths | Weaknesses |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grand Khavatari | Mass PvP, siege | Huge burst + Fear | Vulnerable to kiting |
| Archmage | Olympiad, mass PvP | AoE, debuffs | Low armor and HP |
| Duelist | Duel, small group | Top single-target DPS | Weak in mass PvP |
| Titan | Siege, mass PvP | Haste + Frenzy = killing machine | No CC, straightforward |
| Shillien Templar | Mass PvP | Good defense + debuffs | Slow |
| Storm Screamer | Olympiad | Mass Silence, AoE nuke | Needs strong support |
Olympiad in Hellbound
The Olympiad meta in Hellbound revolves around CC and burst damage. Classes with Silence or Fear have an advantage in almost every matchup.
Duelist vs Mage
Duelist vs Archmage is one of the most common matchups. The Duelist needs to close via Shadow Step and deliver the full combo: Sonic Buster, Blade Rush, Final Secret. If the mage lands a Cubic or Hex first, the tide turns. Key for the Duelist: Acrobatics to dodge spells and Death Whisper immediately on entry.
Mage vs Mage
In mirror matchups the winner is whoever lands the higher crit first. Storm Screamer with Mass Silence locks the enemy roster for 12 seconds — perfect to open a large fight.
In Hellbound Olympiad always take Divine Inspiration (4 buff slots). This lets you run all key buffs without sacrificing any of them.
Castle Sieges: Mass PvP Roles
Siege is a team mode — solo duelists contribute little. Every class needs to know its role.
| Siege Role | Class | Job |
|---|---|---|
| Frontline breaker | Titan / Grand Khavatari | Break enemy formation, open path |
| AoE nuker | Archmage / Storm Screamer | Clear clustered enemy groups |
| Debuffer | Spectral Dancer / Sword Muse | Strip enemy resistances and HP |
| Healer | Cardinal | Sustain allies on the front line |
| Assassin / ganker | Ghost Hunter / Wind Rider | Hunt enemy healers and buffers |
Open PvP on Locations
Hellbound has more open PvP zones than Interlude — Hellbound Island Territory War zones are constantly active. Fast Rogue classes and Titan with Frenzy shine here: before the enemy gathers into a group, one Titan with Frenzy and Haste can kill two or three players before being stopped.
Never enter PvP without active Clarity or Power of Magic — mages lose 30–40% of their potential damage without these buffs.
Gear Recommendations for PvP
- ▸Vesper Noble (light) — best set for most DD classes in HB PvP: balanced defense with cast/attack speed.
- ▸Dynasty Robe — top choice for mages, huge magic attack bonus.
- ▸Vesper Fighter (heavy) — for Titan and Grand Khavatari in sieges.
- ▸Antharas Earring + Valakas Necklace — must-have for PvP, especially for surviving mass fights.
- ▸Elixir of CP: mandatory before siege. CP buffing matters more than HP in Hellbound PvP.
